I am still trying to trace my mother Nora Johnson whom I believe has probably passed away but I would like to find out if I have any relatives in India. Apparently her father might well have been a descendent of a black slave. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I was born in khagoul September 1945 my mothers name was Nora Winifred Evelyn Johnson. She couldn't look after me as my father was in the British army and had returned to the UK before I was born. I was sent to Dr Graham's Homes in Kalimpong and I believe my mother went to work in a hospital in Calcutta. I now live in the UK, have met my father who has since died. Any information about my mother would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for any help.

Hey there!!
I am a English doctor who is coming to India soon to trace back my Grandparents. My Grandma was born in what is now Pakistan in the 1920s and lived for many years in what then called Dinapore Cantonment near Patna, in a hotel her family ran called the Savoy Hotel. I would be so grateful for any information from anyone about the possible location of this hotel and any information on the colonial past of this area.

Kind Regards,
Dr James Burgess

Hi , im so glad to see an association , Im hoping that you might be able to point me in the right direction to see if we can trace any possible living anglo indian ansestors. Im the great great granddaughter of a lineage of Dubois marrying a Blanchette who then had children one of which my great grandfather Allan Dubois who served in the Indian police but later moved from india in the early 1930s I think to Uk , his son Basil Dubois was my grandpa and he had a daughter Leonore still alive my mother . We have dates and details that i can forward to right area, but we love the fact we have anglo indian blood in us and trying to trace where and when that became, we think the blanchette was anglo indian but that we can trace no further , we would love to find some living relatives and learn more of our tree its very exciting. We reside in Perth Western Australia after emigrating from uk in 1987. I look forward to hearing from you and advice appreciated , i have however only given a rough background but have better concise information to send when I know where to go from here. I was wondering if you have any family heritage trees in your association I do see you have a Dubois on your board. Kind regards Happy Easter Lisa
